Haim Sohmer, Ph.D. is Professor (Emeritus) of Physiology at the Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem. His academic career extends over 50 years, with over 200 research articles on auditory physiology. He was the developer of the auditory nerve brainstem evoked response (ABR, BERA). His research involves the application of ABR to audiological and neurological diagnosis, investigation of the mechanisms of bone conduction and soft tissue conduction (non-osseous bone conduction). He was the convener of the international symposium of the International Electric Response Audiometry Study Group in 1977 in Jerusalem and the vice convener of the 19th International Congress of Audiology in Jerusalem in 1988.
